My story at LEONI
My name is Patrycja, and I have been working at LEONI since October 2022, where I hold the position of Financial Specialist. My daily duties include controlling costs, preparing various types of reports, analyses, and statements. I am also responsible for preparing monthly reports summarizing the results achieved in terms of costs and revenues. These results are presented to the LEONI Board of Directors on a monthly basis. Additionally, I assist with the preparation of the annual budget, which is an extremely important and responsible task because the achieved results translate into our competitiveness and attractiveness on the market. Controlling the results within the assumed budget is one of the many tasks for which I am responsible.
The position I currently hold is my first experience in financial data analysis. Although I began my professional career working in data analysis, it was not related to financial data. However, desiring to try something different yet still involving numbers, I pursued studies in accounting. The position of a junior accountant that I held in my previous job provided me with new experiences. However, after a while, I started to miss the work related to data processing. That's when the opportunity to work at LEONI came my way. Now, I realize that this position combines accounting issues with data analysis, which is precisely what I was looking for. To further improve in this direction, I decided to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Economics in Wrocław in the field of Financial Analysis and Result Management. With each passing day, I am convinced that my future lies in Controlling.
My job
I start my daily work by checking my email and calendar. I review what reports I have to prepare on a given day. The busiest time for me is at the beginning of each month, where I have to enter the results for the month into the SAP SEM system based on the collected data. But before that, I need to check if all the cost and revenue invoices have been posted correctly. After entering the data for the balance sheet and profit and loss account, I analyze them to see if they are in line with the assumed budget and if the values do not deviate from the norms.
Working with data is something I love, and my analytical skills make my daily work much easier. I enjoy working with numbers. Comparing, viewing, analyzing, or interpreting data gives me great satisfaction and pleasure. Many people I talk to think that working on data analysis is very rewarding. I have a completely different view on this subject. Already in the process of collecting data, I make an analysis with an idea of what results I can expect. During analysis, I continually draw conclusions and make improvements.
My highlights
The most exciting moment for me at LEONI was summarizing the full-year results that our local unit achieved for 2022. It was a confirmation for me that even though I am just taking my first steps in the company and in financial analysis, what I am doing is right and correct.
When I started working at LEONI, it wasn't easy for me. The company took its first steps in independent operation after separating from the production plant. So my position was quite new. I learned all the processes, procedures, and reports on my own. Here, I received a lot of support from colleagues from other LEONI units, including Spain, Germany, and Tunisia. The cooperation between us continues to this day. Despite the fact that we are separated by a very long distance and the fact that we do not know each other personally, we still feel that we are a team together. Every time I encounter any problem, I am calm because I know that I will not be left alone with it and I will receive help. This is extremely important and has a great impact on the sense of security.
My view of LEONI as an employer
LEONI is a company known all over the world. I am proud to work for a company that contributes to the functionality of many car brands. Cooperation is a feature that LEONI is very distinct in my opinion, and one that I value very much.
The work culture at LEONI is a priority. It might seem that working in a large corporate company is fraught with a lot of stress, but not here. No question is left unanswered, and no request for support or help is ignored. This is evident at the global and local levels. In my team, cooperation, collaboration, and mutual help are part of our everyday life, and this translates into our work and commitment.
